²⁴ God is spirit,^[a] and those who worship him must worship in spirit^[b] and truth.”

²⁵ The woman told him, “I know that the Anointed One^[c] is coming, who is being called ‘the Messiah’.^[d] When that person comes, he will explain everything.”

²⁶ “I AM,” Jesus replied, “the one who is speaking to you.”
